Plumber.

Installs, repairs, and maintains pipes and plumbing systems for water and drainage. Work with fixtures like sinks, toilets, and water heaters, ensuring proper function and adherence to safety codes. Troubleshoot issues, fix leaks, and carry out new installation of plumbing systems and fixtures. The plumber is also required to maintain an appropriate physical environment for all employees to develop their tasks and activities. Ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations regarding physical integrity of the plant building and its immediate surroundings and physical services.

  • Execute the building maintenance plan and do the proper servicing of the plumbing requirements.
  • Ensure the building complies with all building codes laws and regulations.
  • Keep records of work assignments.
  • Execute Weekly, Monthly and Annual inspections of the building.
  • Ensure the proper stock is kept and accounted for of common used materials such as light bulbs, faucets, PVC fitting, electrical wire, etc.
  • Assemble pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, and caulking.
  • Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers or water heaters, or fixtures such as sinks or toilets, using hand or power tools.
  • Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
  • Maintain or repair plumbing by replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes, or opening clogged drains.
  • Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers or levels.
  • Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipe to required angle, using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, or pipe-bending machines.
  • Review blueprints, building codes, or specifications to determine work details or procedures.
  • Anchor steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place.

Requirements:

  • 5 CXC levels including Math and English.
  • UTT or MIC certificate in Plumbing or similar certificate.
  • Must be able to work shifts (6am to 2pm, 2pm to 10pm & 10pm to 6am).
  • Experience of a Bottling or Manufacturing Industry an asset.
