Pharmacist (Superpharm)

JOB SUMMARY

The role requires the Employee to provide pharmacy services to patients and medical practitioners. To fill prescriptions, dispense medicines, counsel patients and medical practitioners regarding the nature and use of drugs; and to train and/or supervise pharmacy interns and pharmacy technicians. To support the Senior Pharmacist in leading and motivating the team and improving its capability to deliver exceptional pharmaceutical care and customer service and achieve financial targets.

JOB DUTIES

• Pepares and/or oversees the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications to patients and/or medical practitioners.
• Makes decisions regarding generic substitution of prescribed pharmaceuticals as appropriate.
• Counsels patients and/or medical practitioners on drug indications/contraindications, dosage, drug interactions and side effects, and provides other drug and pharmaceutical information as appropriate.
• Oversees the acquisition and disbursement of drugs and medications to various offices, clinics and other sites.
• Provides guidance and training to team members, including but not limited to pharmacy interns and pharmacy technicians, and monitors their performance.
• Assists with the management of the pharmacy team including but not limited to, overseeing daily duties; distribution of work tasks and responsibilities; rostering; and disciplinary action.
• Establishes and maintains methods and manner of storage and recordkeeping systems to provide for safekeeping of pharmaceuticals.
• Takes patient histories as required; makes initial clinical assessments and refers patients to appropriate clinicians as required.
• Follows established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental and/or infection control standards.
• Maintains a friendly disposition and provides delightful customer service daily.
• Performs any other duties as required by the Company.
