Key Responsibilities
As a Personal Independence Officer, you will:
- Provide clear guidance to professionals on relevant independence standards, firm policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct advanced technical research to support independence assessments and operational decision‑making.
- Manage escalations and time‑sensitive requests through Outlook and Microsoft Teams with accuracy and professionalism.
- Deliver consistent, shift‑based phone coverage and meet established service level expectations.
- Coordinate multiple tasks under tight timelines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Actively contribute to knowledge sharing, team discussions, and special projects.
- Communicate openly with team leaders, providing updates, escalations, and insights.
- Support the monitoring and achievement of key SLAs and performance metrics.
- Assist with operational tasks as needed to ensure seamless service delivery.
Education & Experience Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in banking, financial institutions, compliance, or related fields.
- Strong preference for candidates familiar with U.S. Independence rules or regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in analytical research, compliance-related functions, and professional communication.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; prior experience with SharePoint or other knowledge‑management tools is a plus.

Special Conditions:
- JESS uses a hybrid work model, allowing staff to work from home in Jamaica or in the office. Employees must be in the office at least five days per month, with more days possible if required by business needs.

- Expected to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Will be working primarily in a paperless environment and expected to be using information systems for the entire workday to access data or perform activities.
- May be required to work extended hours periodically or on public holidays.
