The Packaging Operator has responsibility for the efficient and safe use of machines, ensuring that products meet the required specifications and are in support of the company's overall strategy and goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate machines at a steady speed to achieve optimum line efficiency and meet quality specification standards
  • Execute size change over on machine
  • Troubleshoot and correct problems with machine
  • Perform basic maintenance activities of machine
  • Report defects, unusual sound(s) to the Team Lead
  • Complete logs in an accurate and timely manner
  • Perform duties in compliance with Occupational Safety, Food Safety,  and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards
  • Operate with a view to meet ISO 9001, ISO 14000, ISO 18000 and FSSC 22000 standards, regulatory requirements, and any other third party management systems as required
  • Support the Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems and the Environmental Management Systems in accordance with the following International Standards: Occupational Health and Environment, Quality Management Systems and Food Safety respectively
  • Operate machine in a safe and workman like manner
  • Attend trainings and meetings scheduled by the Company
  • Any other duty as may be assigned within the scope of the job

JOB SPECIFICATION/COMPETENCIES [Minimum]

Required Qualification, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Certificate from a technical institution such as NTEI with at least one (1) year related experience
  • Technical background, with experience in Industrial Maintenance
  • Effective communication skills – written and verbal with the ability to interact well with varying staff levels
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work on own initiative and as a part of a team
  • High attention to detail with the ability to function well in a demanding work environment
