PURCHASING OFFICER

Responsible for all local and foreign purchases. Follows through with purchases from order placement to fulfilment and ensures that orders arrive on time. Liaise with brokers and shipping agents.

Purchasing Officer

 The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring purchase orders are prepared and expedited in accordance with established time frames and within the format stipulated by the Company.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research for new products
• Prepares all local & foreign purchase orders
• Update weekly status of purchase orders
• Liaise with all Managers and MD
• Liaise with the company’s broker and shipping agents on all shipping documentation
• Assist with scheduling Export orders
• Preparation of Caricom Invoices for exportation of goods
• Follow-up on foreign purchase orders, up to receipt of goods by warehouse
• Follow-up with suppliers and shipping agencies on queries

Qualifications & Experience

• At least Level 3 from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or a suitable combination of work experience and skill will be considered. 
• Must have at least five (5) CXC including Maths and English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• A minimum of three (2) years working experience in a similar position
• Knowledge of international trade and logistics would be an asset
• Excellent negotiation skills

• Effective interpersonal skills
