PURCHASING MANAGER

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of buyers, purchasing officers, and related team members involved in the purchasing of materials, products, and services. He/she will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships between suppliers and the organisation.

Requirements/duties of the position include:

• Developing and implementing global sourcing strategy
•  Initiating and participating in strategic sourcing projects
• Developing and implementing purchasing policies and procedures.
• Developing and implementing global sourcing risk mitigation strategy
• Developing and implementing cost savings programmes
• Establishing strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the company's needs
• Continually improving purchasing methods and driving down external spend
• Conducting costing, pricing and quality analysis of goods/services
• Conducting vendor auditing and supplier evaluations
• Ensuring adherence to international trade regulations

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Management or any other related field. 
• Certification in the Purchasing and Logistics field
• Computer Literate – solid knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
• Three (3) years’ experience in a Procurement Management role.
• Knowledgeable in supply management and accounting principles
• Knowledgeable in import procedures and practices
• Knowledgeable in dynamic inventory system.
• Good oral and written communication skills
