The Procurement Assistant is responsible for managing all Parts Inventory (externally and internally) to its optimal levels forecasting and meeting customer demand.

THIS POSITION IS OPEN ONLY TO NATIONALS OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO AND THOSE IN POSSESSION OF VALID AUTHORIZATION TO WORK IN THE COUNTRY AND LIVING HERE AT THE PRESENT TIME.

 

Our client a Financial Institution located in PORT OF SPAIN is currently looking to fill the post of a TEMPORARY PROCUREMENT ASSISTANT


SALARY RANGE:$6,000.00 per month 

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm 

 

Responsibilities

 Support the procurement team in executing the purchasing process efficiently
and effectively.
 Assist in identifying potential vendors or suppliers, obtaining quotes, and
evaluating proposals to determine the best value for the organization.
 Generate and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner,
ensuring adherence to company policies and budgetary constraints.
 Maintain organized procurement records, including contracts, purchase
orders, invoices, and other relevant documentation, in both physical and
electronic formats.
 Communicate with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and
any issues or concerns that may arise during the procurement process.
 Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory
requirements throughout the procurement process.
 Help prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) or requests for quotations
(RFQs), including gathering requirements, drafting documents, and
coordinating the evaluation process.
 Provide administrative support for procurement-related projects, such as
supplier evaluations, contract renewals, or process improvements.

 Minimum Requirements

Associate degree or Diploma in Management or a related field.
 At least two (2) years of experience in the procurement function.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 Some knowledge of procurement methods and procedures, laws, rules and
regulations governing public procurement and the purchasing of items from
local and foreign sources.
 Ability to provide support in the entire procurement process, including
developing and issuing of bidding documents, tenders procedures, evaluation
of bids, negotiation and monitoring of contracts.
 Ability to function with a high level of professionalism when interacting with
external and internal clients.
 Strong communication skills, both verbal and listening skills.
