PRINT AND MACHINE OPERATOR

The incumbent will perform various large format printing and print finishing functions using different machines and tools and perform operation and maintenance work on the various print machines and rip software.

1. Print various interior, exterior and specialty signs in a variety of different substrates and ensure that signs are produced to the highest quality according to specifications;
2. Prepare jobs from job sheets by creating clipping paths, colour correction and any other tasks to aid in the printing process
3. Resolve problems with orders and job sheet
4. Operate / set-up of large format digital printing press.
5. Use various machines for printing and set-up and operation.
6. Produce large format prints to colour and size specifications.
7. Account for all labour and material consumed on job by job basis.
8. Produce product in full, on time and within specification (including monitoring and observing in process printing)
9. Perform routine daily cleaning and maintenance to ensure optimal printing conditions.
10. Perform print finishing duties.
11. Organize and prepare digital files to download to large format colour digital devices.
12. Operate and maintain large format colour digital devices to generate oversized prints.
13. Gather, organize, and wrap completed work for delivery to customer or other departments.
14. Review all proofs and final product samples produced on digital equipment before releasing to internal or external customers.
