VACANCY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position at the North-Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA):
PLANT OPERATOR III
The incumbent will be required to assist in operating the plant and associated auxiliaries under his control, safely and efficiently.
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitors and records the operations of plants, other equipment and systems as directed by the Plant Engineer such as the Sewer Plant and Incinerator.
- Prepares request for maintenance to plant when necessary and records all activities carried out on equipment to the shift engineer.
- Reports all abnormalities, the failures or malfunctioning of components or equipment to the Shift Engineer.
- Checks the log sheets regularly to assess plant operating conditions and takes corrective action within the limits of defined responsibility.
- Performs switching and load shedding as required under directed by the Shift Engineer and assists the Standby Engineer in the carrying out of on-call duties.
- Follows all safety procedures in the execution of duties and assists in the training of personnel assigned to this section.
- Performs related duties as required according to the organisational relationship.
Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience:
- A Technician Diploma or Bachelor of Science Degree or Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Five (5) C.X.C subjects with English, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry included.
- Minimum of four years experience in the area of Electrical and Mechanical Plant Operations, or a minimum of 5 years experience in the area of Plant Operations with knowledge of three of the following systems:
- High Voltage, Low Voltage and Extra Low Voltage Electrical Systems.
- Plants such as Chillers, Boilers, Incinerators, Distilled Water, Medical Gases and Generators.
- Water and Sewage Treatment.
* Certificates acquired at foreign universities MUST be supported by certified transcripts as well as evidence that the completed programme is accredited in Trinidad and Tobago
