Operations Manager (Manufacturing)

A company in the manufacturing sector in Jamaica is seeking to recruit an experienced Operations Manager to provide senior leadership and oversight of its production and operational functions. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while meeting sales demand, production targets, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage core manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, and efficiency targets
• Contribute as a member of the Senior Management Team to long- and medium-term strategic planning
• Develop and manage annual and monthly production schedules and report on actual output
• Ensure production plans align with demand forecasts and strategic objectives
• Oversee the production of manufactured products to meet market demand
• Manage operational workflows to ensure smooth movement of inventory from raw materials to finished goods
• Provide analytical data and reports to support business planning and performance evaluation
• Prepare and present monthly operational and production reports
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to ensure production and delivery targets are met
• Set KPIs, performance standards, and conduct performance assessments for direct reports
• Manage manpower planning to meet operational demands while controlling overtime
• Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSSE policies and procedures
• Ensure adherence to approved Standard Operating Procedures
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders as required
• Ensure compliance with company and group policies

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Production Management, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within coatings or similar production settings
• At least 4 years’ experience at a middle management level
• Formal training in management, supervision, or project management is an asset
