Our client, ANSA Coatings, is seeking to fill the position of Operations Manager.

This is a permanent role based in Arima.

 JOB SUMMARY

The Operations Manager will lead and oversee the company’s operations, driving both day-to-day execution and strategic initiatives, which include but are not limited to managing cost of production, improving the production process and customer experience, and ensuring adherence to maintenance. He/she will also be responsible for the manufacturing processes and quality.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Continuously seeks growth and empowerment opportunities for the company though setting expectations.
  • Review existing processes to ensure that it has the right controls, purpose and is functional to a level that empowers growth and improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the company's core operations.
  • Collaborate with Senior Management to establish long and medium-term plans for the company that align with its strategic objectives.
  • Manage the Operations Departments and all production staff, ensuring that performance standards and key performance indicators are met or exceeded.
  • Ensures that the company has the right people to do the job and ensure they understand the processes and have the right tools and skill sets to perform assigned tasks and manage manpower to meet operational demands.
  • Develop and maintain a quality culture driving a program for zero defects in the factory.
  • Oversee the movement of inventory items from Raw Materials to Finished Goods through the use of the ERP system, coordinating workflows and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Develop and monitor the Annual/Monthly Production Schedule to ensure that production output meets sales demand and quality targets.
  • Report on all production-related activities, providing regular updates to Senior Management.
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure that product targets are met, and quality standards are maintained.
  • Develop and implement a maintenance program that includes preventative maintenance schedules and repair plans to ensure that all equipment and facilities are maintained.
  • Participate in committees/groups/task forces formed to address specific plant-related issues.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing processes comply with established health and safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Foster a culture of safety awareness and promote the development of a Safety culture within the company.
  • Ensure compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures, Conditions, and Limits.
  • Liaise with external customers, contractors, and suppliers as required to meet operational demands.
  • Participates in audits on all functional areas.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • BSc. in Operations/Production Management or Chemistry/Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ related experience in a manufacturing environment with a least three (3) years’ managerial experience.
  • Experience in a unionised environment.
