Royalton VESSENCE Barbados is seeking an Online Communications Manager to lead a comprehensive marketing effort, overseeing internal systems, digital signage, resort app, website content and social media.

The role of the Online Communication Manager is crucial in preserving a strong brand image and enhancing all marketing initiatives, leading a comprehensive marketing strategy encompassing social media, digital signage, and content administration. 

Description of Responsibilities: 

  • Work with the Field Marketing Manager and Corporate team (Corporate Social Media Manager and B2C Marketing Director) to develop impactful branded social media and guest engagement content.
  • Plan, develop, and execute a resort-specific social media calendar that highlights unique features and creates original content for social platforms, including video and photography.
  • Develop content across all guests experience platforms, ensuring brand consistency and maximizing upsell opportunities, including social media, digital signage, in-room TV, signage, welcome folders, and hotel apps.
  • Monitor and respond to guest reviews on designated platforms 
  • Manage social media accounts including direct messages, to maintain an optimal online presence and brand consistency.
  • Create engaging in-property advertising promoting non-packaged revenue items 
  • Ensure all resort collateral materials adhere to brand standards to maintain strong brand equity.
  • Support influencer and media stay in partnership with the Corporate Public Relations Manager.
  • Provide regular reports on social engagement and marketing activity to measure performance and inform strategy.
  • Serve as a positive brand ambassador for the resort, demonstrating a friendly and outgoing demeanor.

 Key requirements:  

  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal in English and Spanish.
  • Proven photography and video editing skills.
  • Creative storytelling skills and ability to develop engaging branded content.
  • Experience using social media management software to organize, schedule and analyze social content.
  • Copywriting experience.
  • Must be organized and practice effective time management.
  • Able to work in fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Available for occasional travel for training and meetings.
  • Experience in the hotel industry is an asset.
  • Event experience.
  • Must recognize this position operates outside of normal business hours (evenings/weekends).

 Education & Certificates:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience overseeing social media or online reputation in a business environment which has included multiple brands.
  • Diploma or degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or similar combination of education and experience.
