To plan, manage and provide strategic advice to ensure optimum utilization of the Offshore assets to deliver Heritage’s overall business objectives. To oversee and support the Offshore Management team responsible for safe asset operations, engineering, compliance and project delivery.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Works with the CEO, COO and Executive team members in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and resource requirements.
  • Develops in collaboration with the COO, CEO and the Chief Financial Officer, an annual Business Unit Operating Plan that supports the organizational long-term operations and growth strategy.
  • Keeps the COO fully informed in a timely and candid manner of the conduct of the day-to-day operations of the Offshore organization towards the achievement of its established goals and of all material deviations from the goals, objectives and/or policies established by the Board.
  • Participates in negotiations relevant to business agreements relating to production, development, supply and sale of the company’s products.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations for the Offshore Business Unit, including the deliverables of the Operations, Maintenance, Technical, Planning & Performance and Operations support functions (namely Corporate Communications, HR, HSE, Procurement and Subsurface).
  • Embeds Integrity Management and Asset Preservation framework to ensure desired production profile is achieved and surpassed.
  • Ensures compliance with Engineering Industry standards, HSE and Regulatory codes, standards and requirements. 
  • Ensures Business Unit projects are executed as planned, and that variances are minimized and controlled. 
  • Works with the Executive team to create, implement and roll out plans for operational processes, internal infrastructure, reporting systems and company policies to foster growth, profitably and efficiencies within the company.
  • Works with the Executive team to prepare and implement the annual budget for the core business units and monitors performance to ensure that variances are minimised.
  • Develops strategic goals, objectives and key performance indicators for Offshore Business Unit and utilizes the Performance Management System to measure, manage, and motivate performance.  
  • Develops and implements staffing strategy and effectively leads a team of professionals by developing talent and cultivating a high-performance culture.
  • Directs the development of departmental budgets and monitors and controls utilization.
  • Undertakes any other assignments required from time to time, to fulfil the job purpose.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Post Graduate Degree in relevant field or Master of Business Administration will be an asset.
Experience
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience in Upstream Oil and Gas Industry of which a minimum of seven (7) years must be at a Senior Leadership level.
  • In depth understanding of process improvement and optimization discipline tools and techniques.
  • Proven track record in Operations Management.
Job Specific Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of managing oil and gas development and production operations (including asset management excellence, licensing, risk management and profitability analysis and infrastructure development).
  • Sound knowledge of Oil and Gas Health and Safety standards and operational procedures.
  • Financial reporting capabilities including budgeting and cash flow management. 
  • Knowledge of procurement and contract administration and management.   
  • Knowledge of legal, commercial and financial aspects of asset management, contracts, agreements etc.
