An Obstetrician and Gynaecologist provides inpatient services, outpatient gynaecology clinics, and procedural services including colposcopy, which is a core component of the natural cervical cancer prevention and screening programme.

An Obstetrician and Gynaecologist provides inpatient services, outpatient gynaecology clinics, and procedural services including colposcopy, which is a core component of the natural cervical cancer prevention and screening programme.

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS

The applicant should possess:-

  • Medical Degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognised university
  • Specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from a recognised institution.
  • Full registration with a recognised national or state medical regulatory authority
  • Demonstrated evidence and experience in performing and interpreting obstetric ultrasounds and electronic fetal monitoring.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Possess a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist.
  • Experience in establishing an OB/GYN service or a minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing an OB/GYN service.
  • Experience reviewing, organising, and strengthening maternal and new-born care systems in resource-constrained settings.
  • Experience designing and delivering capacity-building and training interventions in maternal and child health, particularly in low- and middle-income settings.
  • Experience working in the Caribbean or other small-island contexts will be an asset.
  • Experience applying quality improvement methodologies in clinical practice will be an asset.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENGAGEMENT

Appointment will be made on a contractual basis for a period of three years. 

REMUNERATION PACKAGE

The annual remuneration package for the post of Obstetrician/Gynaecologist will be commensurate with qualification, experience and scope of responsibilities.
