The Nominated Officer is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the company’s AML compliance framework.

The Nominated Officer is responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the company’s AML compliance framework. This includes developing AML policies and procedures, performing risk assessments, overseeing transaction monitoring, and ensuring timely reporting of suspicious activities. The Nominated Officer also acts as the principal point of contact with regulatory authorities on AML-related matters.

In some cases, this role may be incorporated into broader non-operational or administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain AML policies and procedures in line with current laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct AML risk assessments to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks.
  • Monitor company transactions for suspicious or unusual activity and report findings to the Financial Investigations Division (FID) as required.
  • Provide ongoing AML training and guidance to staff to ensure awareness and compliance across the organization.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulators and respond to AML-related inquiries, audits, and examinations.
  • Stay abreast of changes in AML legislation, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.
  • Provide reports as necessary to the Board of Directors.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years managerial experience in a financial institution or compliance role.
  • In-depth knowledge of AML laws, regulations, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues clearly and professionally.
