SUMMARY
Reporting to the Distribution Supervisor the
incumbent is responsible for providing support to the
Warehouse and Distribution Department by coordinating
and supervising the issuing of snacks to delivery drivers for
distribution to the schools within a certain geographical
area.
Key Outputs:
- Report, school listings and loading schedules prepared
- Letters, memoranda, cheques and equipment distributed
- Delivery contractor vehicles documents are updated
- Snacks issued
- Solid and liquid received from the bakery and dairy department checked for accuracy and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Management/Administrative Responsibilities:

Technical/Professional Responsibilities:
- Prepare distribution report for plant on a daily basis.
Prepare loading schedules for delivery drivers.
- Distribute all letters, memoranda, to delivery drivers and other documents such as cheques and equipment to rural plants
- Facilitate timely communication flow between Distribution Supervisor and delivery contractors.
- Ensure all delivery contractor vehicles documents are up to date such as insurance, certificate of fitness, motor vehicle registration etc.
- Issue snacks to drivers for delivery on a daily basis.
- Ensure that solid and liquid received from the bakery and dairy department are checked for accuracy and quality.
- Ensure that designated schools are fed on a timely basis.
- Prepare variety report on snacks delivered on a daily basis.
- Issue snacks to internal and external customers as the need arises and documents all information on all files.
- Ensure that all delivery drivers are equipped with a school listing, name of schools, quantity to be delivered to school, etc.
- Ensure that snacks being issued are of an acceptable quality.
- Supervise the loading of all delivery vehicles and ensure that all delivery drivers are loaded and dispatched before 7.00 a.m. each morning.
- Ensure that present delivery drivers are registered with the National Contracts Commission.
- Ensure that delivery contractors bills are submitted to the accounts department on time for payment on Fridays.
Human Resource Responsibilities:
- Monitors and evaluates the performance of direct reports, prepares performance appraisals and recommends and/or initiate corrective actions wherever necessary to improve performance and/or established personal and/or organizational goals
- Participates in the recruitment of staff for the Department and recommends transfers, promotion, termination and leave in accordance with established Human Resource Policies and Procedures;
- Participates in developing and implementing in collaboration with the Human Resource Department, a programme of Succession Planning for the Department to facilitate continuity and the availability of required skills and competencies to meet the needs of the Department;
- Provides leadership and guidance to direct reports through effective planning, delegation, communication, training, mentoring and coaching;
- Ensures the welfare and developmental needs of staff in the Department are clearly identified and addressed;

Authority:
- Recommend appointment, promotion, transfers, training, re-assignment and dismissal of direct /indirect reports in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Recommend/not recommend leave requests etc
Working Conditions
Incumbent may be required to work over time
Work in varied temperatures (heat humidity etc,)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma in Management Studies Or its equivalent from any recognized tertiary institutions
Minimum Experience:
On the job training
REMUNERATION
Basic Salary: $2,190,302.00 - $2,945,712.00 per annum
