NETWORK SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT
Applications are invited from persons with suitable qualifications to fill the position of “Network Solutions Architect” at the Group Technology Support Division (GTSD).
The jobholder is responsible for designing and implementing a reliable, secure, and scalable network for both on-premise and cloud infrastructure that aligns with the Group’s business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of network technologies, experience in network design and implementation, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including participation in an RFP process.
The role requires participating in post-mortem sessions with the team to understand shortcomings in the architecture and recommend enhancements. It requires review of all regulatory framework requirements and compliance of all statutory requirements across all Territories from a Data Security standpoint. Documentation of all findings and designs are required with recommendations properly noted that will require approval prior to implementation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Designing and implementing short and long-term strategic plans to ensure network capacity meets existing and future requirements of the Group
- Designing and overseeing implementation of architectural changes required to support new Group initiatives.
- Testing and assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with technical staff to recommend and implement solutions to improve it.
- Defining and documenting network standards across the group and providing guidance to the engineers for their compliance.
- Enhancing and developing the BCP Network failover strategy of the Group and document all activities required for successful switchover
- Establishing service-level agreements with end users.
- Providing guidance to development/project teams and network engineers
- Continually researching the current and emerging technologies and proposing changes where needed and/or providing strategic benefit to the group.
- Informing various stakeholders about any issues with the current technical solutions being implemented
- Assessing the business impact of certain technical decisions.
- Providing updates to stakeholders on development processes, costs, and budgets
- Participating in RFP processes as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Three (3) years’ experience as a Network Architect or similar role in a complex network environment.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
- Strong knowledge of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools.
- Experience with network security practices and designing secure networks.
- Knowledge of IIA, NIST, ISO and ISACA’s COBIT Standards
At least three years should be at a supervisory level to gain leadership/ management skills.

- AWS/Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect
- Sound knowledge of the Group’s business and IT industry.
- Knowledge of the Bank’s Computer Operations environment
- Strong knowledge and competency in Information Technology advancements and best practices.
- Formulation of IT Governance Policies, standards and procedures related to the conduct, control, and direction of information technology.
