Network Engineer

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
• Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment and services.
• (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
• Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation.
• Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security.
• Maximising network performance through ongoing monitoring, troubleshooting and capacity planning.
• Maintaining and upgrading technical systems or offer recommendations on upgrades.
• Investigating faults in the network and Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases.
• Coordinating maintenance with other IT professionals and users.
• Assisting in the examination of server equipment and maintenance.
• Testing and demonstrating new software and technology to increase productivity.
• Maintaining up to date documentation of the network infrastructure.
• Performing any other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• BSc in Computer Science or similar discipline.
• Fortinet NSE 4, CCNA or other similar certification.
• CISP certification would be an asset.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience with Fortinet and Cisco hardware/software.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
• Server management experience covering Windows, Linux.
