The Mud Engineer Trainee will play a vital role in delivering onsite services, collaborating closely with both Engineers and Operators to ensure the seamless execution of operations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum requirement of an Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year working experience within the industry.
  • Proficiency in oilfield terminology and practices will be considered an asset.

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Mud Engineer Trainee is directly accountable to the Business Unit Manager – Drilling and Completion Fluids or delegate.

 

FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with Coordinator on Drilling & Completion Fluids Schedules.
  • Working on sites to monitor and maintain the desired drilling fluids (mud) properties in order to ensure successful operation of the well and to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assisting engineers in successfully and responsibly managing all resources on work sites.
  • Communicating with the customer representative onsite.
  • Performing and recording regular tests, documenting and communicating any deviances to the main laboratory to ensure the provision of consistent quality to customers.
  • Documenting all inventory on the site and the amount used within a particular period.
  • Liaising with personnel at the Head Office.
  • Assisting Lead Engineer with coordinating activities of the site.
  • Ensuring timely completion of all hourly reports.
  • Assisting engineer in conducting pre-job toolbox meetings.
  • Analysis of fluid properties and interpret reports using software.
  • Monitoring and ensuring efficient use of all solids control and waste management equipment.
  • Ensuring Certificate of Clearance (CEC) compliance.
  • Performs any other related duties required by management to ensure the successful completion and/or running of operations.
