Merchandising Manager

The successful candidate will assist with planning and selecting a commercially viable range of products and accessories for designated product categories to support the Company’s strategy and budget objectives.

The Merchandise Manager will assist with planning and selecting a commercially viable range of products and accessories for designated product categories to support the Company’s strategy and budget objectives, thus sustaining turnover, quality and service levels whilst achieving gross margin objectives. The successful candidate will also manage the supply chain to maximize product availability and stock productivity.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Develop and manage local range plans for assigned product categories, including cost analysis and product pricing to achieve budget and margin objectives.
• Execute action plans agreed with Regional Buyers/ Merchandise Managers, including implementation of pricing strategy and maintaining the local range plan and store profiles.
• Conduct ongoing SKU management, providing accurate monthly product forecasts in accordance with supplier lead times.
• Monitor, manage and minimize aged stock, slow moving and discontinued lines throughout the business.
• Review and interpret competitor marketing activity and the overall trading environment, ensuring coherent and timely feedback to regional teams to maintain competitive positioning in the market.
• Support new store openings, refurbishments, and layout optimizations to enhance customer experience and sales potential.
• Assist with the development of partnerships and the identification of prospective customers and new business opportunities through market research, data analysis and by following market leads and feedback from existing customers and stakeholders.
• Visit warehouses or other storage areas to visually assess and monitor stockholding, stock rotation and storage conditions.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• Robust understanding of supply chain management and sourcing strategies, as well as inventory management and optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with proven leadership ability.
• Exceptional analytical and numerical skills, with high proficiency in financial forecasting.
• Strong presentation and report-writing skills for executive-level communication.
• Sharp commercial acumen with the ability to drive category growth through data-driven decision-making.

YOUR BACKGROUND:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in retail merchandising and category management or similar role within a multinational import and logistics environment.
• Minimum of 3 years of managerial experience.
