JOB SUMMARY

 

The role is responsible for the effective management of Over‑the‑Counter (OTC) products to drive sales performance and support overall business objectives. Key responsibilities include managing the full OTC product lifecycle—promoting existing items, introducing new products, minimizing expiries, and ensuring optimal visual merchandising to enhance consumer appeal. The position also provides proactive support to the Sales Team to help achieve annual revenue targets set by management.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Developing and fostering relationships with the floor staff, purchasers, owners and / or pharmacists.
  • Dusting shelves, rotating stock and organizing products in a visually appealing way (alphabetically, if possible, when all products are together).
  • Detailing shelves with strips, spacers, etc.
  • Facilitating the make-up/creation of show-windows and maintaining them when necessary.
  • Managing close-expiry goods
  • Using GAP analysis provided by Management, attempt to fill the GAPs of the OTC range. 
  • Educating and informing members of pharmacy staff about OTC products and their uses.
  • Distribution of product information in the form of monographs, flyers, posters and other detail aids.
  • Conduct stock checks and taking orders from customers when necessary.
  • Recording customer complaints regarding sales and services and competently passing on the information to Customer Service Supervisor
  • Gathering of Customer or market data as defined by Sales/Marketing/Customer Service Department.
  • Observing Market trends and brining information to the office in order to take advantage of opportunities to infiltrate the market.
  • Advising, participating and assisting in the co-ordination and execution of promotional campaigns when required

 

 

 

QUARTERLY PERFORMANCE MEASURES

 

  • Ability to develop relationships with floor and dispensary staff
  • Proper stock rotation at OTC level and assisting Sales Rep in minimizing returns due to goods expired
  • Developing harmonious and mutually beneficial relationships with Sales Reps of stores that are merchandised
  • Filling GAPs at the OTC level
  • Educating floor staff regarding uses of OTC products
  • Visual impact of OTC products during spot checks
  • Ability to observe or determine market trends and communicate information to team and management in a timely manner.
  • Creativity, teamwork and enthusiasm

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • 5 CXC O’ Level including Mathematics & English
  • Computer Literate
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Vehicle in good working condition
  • Must be able to stand for long hours.
