Job Summary:

The Merchandiser plays a vital role in driving sell-through at the retail level by ensuring that products are properly stocked, attractively displayed, and aligned with promotional strategies. This individual supports inventory management, executes brand visibility standards, and acts as a field-level liaison between the company and its retail partners. The role also requires capturing key insights on customer behavior, competitor activity, and product performance across locations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Monitoring & Stock Replenishment

  • Track inventory levels at retail locations to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, sales teams, and retail staff to execute timely restocking and product rotation to maintain availability and meet demand.
  • Identify and liaise with Trade Market Lead to resolve issues related to out-of stocks, overstocking and shrinkage. 

2. Visual Merchandising and Shelf Compliance:

  • Monitor product freshness, rotate aged products, and ensure display and planograms are executed to brand standards for maximum shelf appeal and consumer impact. 
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and product quality across all displays and shelves.
  • Replace damaged or expired items promptly and ensure correct pricing is displayed.

3. Retail Store Support

  • Provide insights and real-time feedback  to the Sales and Trade Marketing teams on consumer preferences, shopper response and campaign/promotional performance.
  • Assist in the execution of in-store promotions, ensuring materials and displays are set up effectively.

4. Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Gather insights on consumer behavior, competitor activity, and sales trends at the store level.
  • Report on product movement, pricing variances, and opportunities for sales growth.
  • Identify merchandising gaps and propose actionable solutions to the Trade Marketing Team.

5. Retail Relationship Management

  • Build positive working relationships with store managers and staff to support seamless merchandising efforts.
  • Act as the first point of contact for in-store product queries or merchandising issues.
  • Arrange periodic training for store staff on new products and brand initiatives as needed.

6. Compliance & Standards

  • Adhere to all company policies regarding branding, safety, and code of conduct while on location.
  • Ensure that all brand assets and displays reflect the professional image of the company.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Associate Degree; training in sales or merchandising preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in merchandising, retail, or sales.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must own or operate a reliable motor vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel between store locations.
