Job Summary

To promote all pharmaceutical lines carried by the company to all doctors and health care professionals throughout Trinidad and Tobago to increase product awareness and sales.

Job Duties

  • Scheduling meetings with potential and existing customers, which includes doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and other health care professionals.
  • Presenting company products to potential and existing customers and persuading them to make purchases.
  • Be current with technical and product knowledge to provide correct information and satisfactory answers to any queries raised about Company products and seek Management assistance when needed.
  • Be fully aware and acquainted with competitor activities; products, promotion strategies / campaigns / schemes, trade offers, incentives, pricing etc. and keep your manager informed of such activities through your Daily Call Reports / Monthly Reports.
  • Maintain complete records of the total number of doctors, hospitals, health centres, private clinics, private hospitals etc. assigned as per the company’s prescribed formats.
  • Make a list of all doctors and pharmacies within your territory in consultation with your Manager and prepare a Master Visit List of said doctors and pharmacies within 60 days of joining the Company.
  • Update the Master Visit List at least once per quarter and any changes must be approved by your Manager and it is subject to checks for veracity and relevance at any time.
  • Ensure that sales stock is maintained at all pharmacies and provide the necessary assistance to such pharmacies in doing so.
  • Ensure that all Daily Call Reports are submitted once per week with all columns completed. Any changes to this requirement must be in writing. Daily Call Reports would be used to verify activities and quality of work with direct bearing on the productivity in the field, and one of the parameters used to determine periodic performance.
  • Ensure availability of products at the marketplace by performing Retail Call Audits and taking Orders.
  • Maintain direct contact with pharmacies to monitor purchases and Product sales and assess the impact of Customer Coverage and Product Promotion.
  • Prepare daily planners to ensure a minimum average of 8 doctors per day and 4 pharmacy calls per day, and have them approved.
  • Ensure that proper care is taken of Company property in your possession including the visual aids, samples, literature, reprints of clinical reports, gift items, official records and the detailing bag, etc., as any misuse of these inputs may lead to disciplinary action.
  • Submit a Monthly Report summarising activities performed pertaining to the previous month on the last day of every

Other

  • Foster and maintain positive work relationships with all levels of staff and customers
  • Stay informed about activities in the health arena to better promote products
  • Participate in any promotional or sales enhancing activities planned outside of the normal work week for Pharmacies and/or Doctors.
  • Perform any other related duties that may be assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, medical office management, or related field is preferred or 2 years’ experience as a medical representative
  • 2 years customer service experience
  • Must own a fully insured vehicle in good working condition
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proven medical sales experience.
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology
