Medical Sales Representative (Island-wide)

Medical Sales Representative - Duties & Responsibilities

  • Arrange appointments with doctors, pharmacists and hospital medical teams, which may include pre-arranged appointments or regular ‘cold' calling/visits.
  • Make presentations to doctors, practice staff and nurses in GP surgeries, hospital doctors and pharmacists in the retail sector.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with medical staff and support administrative staff.
  • Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and wins/ establishes new accounts/ new customers, as well as developing long-term relationships with existing ones.
  • Keep detailed records of all contacts
  • Reach, and if possible exceed, annual sales targets
  • Plan work schedules and weekly and monthly timetables with sales team and discuss future targets with the sales manager.
  • Regularly attend company meetings, technical data presentations and briefings.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual category analyses.
  • Keep up to date with the latest clinical data supplied by the company, and interpret, present and discuss this data with health professionals during presentations and visits.
  • Analyze sales data to improve results.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, sciences, bio medical engineering or related field.
  • Experience in sales. (2 - 3 years preferred)
  • Competent in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must have a driver’s license and drive a reliable vehicle
  • Must be able to travel island wide
