The incumbent would be responsible for promoting and selling the Company’s products to the target Customers with the view of achieving the objectives of the Division.

 

Bryden pi Ltd, one of the leading channel-focused distributors of Consumer, Health and Personal Care products in Trinidad and Tobago is on the lookout for the ideal candidate to join our unique family in the position of MEDICAL REPRESENTATIVE - ALCON  within our Pharmaceutical Division.

Some Main Responsibilities include: 

  • Arrange appointments with doctors inclusive of GPs and OBGYNs, ophthalmologists, optometrists and pharmacies which may include pre-arranged appointments or regular 'cold' calling
  • Make presentations to doctors, pharmacy staff and optical staff (when required). Presentations may take place in medical settings during the day, or may be conducted in the evenings at designated venues
  • Organize mini meetings for, GPs, OBGYNs, optometrists, othalmologists and pharmaceutical staff in tandem with the other team members
  • Attain monthly sales targets on assigned routes ensuring routes are properly serviced and that key supplier products are visible and/ or available where required
  • Manage order taking for all Alcon pharma products, and maintain inventory log for communication to brand manager for placing supplier order
  • Execute agreed sales and marketing plans
  • Engage in co-promote activities with HES counterparts, as the opportunity presents itself
  • Plan work schedules and weekly and monthly timetables. This may involve working with the sales representative or sales manager on the field.
  • Review and discuss assigned targets with Senior Brand Manager
  • Maintain minimum call rate, however not limited to 8 GPs/OBGYNs/optometrists and 4 pharmacies per day
  • Regularly attend company/supplier meetings, technical data presentations and briefings
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest clinical data supplied by the Company, and interpret, present and discuss this data with health professionals during presentations
  • Collect feedback/information from new and existing customers/consumers on the performance of the Company’s products and populate Competitor Report on a monthly basis (or additional as required)
  • Continuous expansion and exploration of opportunities to encourage sales growth with new and existing customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of new developments in field, anticipating potential negative and positive impacts on the business and adapting strategy accordingly.
  • Gather and compile competitor market data to share with Senior Brand Manager

Qualification, Experience and Requirement: 

  • Minimum of tertiary level qualifications in Medical Sciences, Marketing, Management or related fields
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the health industry, preferably in Medical Sales/Marketing.
  • Or relevant combination of training and experience
  • A valid Police Certificate of Good Character

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent sales skills are essential.
