Kiss Baking Company (Jamaica) is seeking to recruit a Mechanical Technician who will be responsible for carrying out predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment, in order to minimize down time and maximize the production capacity and efficiency of the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Provide mechanical repair and maintenance services for the company’s plant and building machinery and all other related equipment.
- Conduct routine checks and service plant equipment.
- Analyze equipment failures to determine primary/root cause.
- Troubleshoot and correct mechanical faults on all machines and related equipment.
- Install new equipment and major parts and components
- Research and recommend the use of new technology and techniques to improve equipment maintenance.
- Use technical skills training to assist with on the job training of other employees.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of mechanical maintenance techniques and procedures.
- Understanding of engineering principles.
- Working knowledge of general machinery and equipment repair techniques.
- The ability to work methodically and precisely.
- The ability to manage a varied workload
- An awareness of health and safety
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in Industrial Mechanical Engineering/Maintenance or equivalent qualifications from HEART/NSTA Trust or other recognized tertiary institution.
- Minimum two (2) years’ post qualification experience as a Mechanical Technician in a manufacturing environment.
