Works on a range of engineering plant and equipment (both electrical and mechanical systems). Carries out minor repairs, installation and planned maintenance as directed.

3.   RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintains a professional manner and high level of customer service at all times.
  2. Performs work including activities which are non-routine.
  3. Undertakes maintenance, repairs, minor improvement and capital work across the TCI Hospitals as directed by facilities management, ensuring compliance with TCI safety standards and procedures.
  4. Follows planned maintenance schedules with ability to complete associated reporting documents and follow up for items that cannot be readily resolved.
  5. Undertakes planned preventative maintenance inspections and defect dockets in accordance with TCI procedures.
  6. Completes all report sheets and test certificates as necessary.
  7. Assists in fire alarm testing, pat testing, store duties and maintaining good housekeeping within workshops.
  8. Uses and maintains equipment, tools, capital at all times in a professional and safe manner as per TCI health and safety procedures and manufacturers instructions.
  1. Accepts direction from in-charge person as per area of assignment which may include Manager of department or designate.
  2. Serves clients which include staff, patients and families, providing a high quality, efficient, friendly and client-focused service at all times.
  1. Notifies facilities management immediately in event of any deviation from regulations or any electrical or technical fault.
  2. Maintains confidentiality of all information and material received or communicated at TCI Hospitals.
  3. Works safely and inline with Company Safe Systems of Work and Standard Operating Processes.
  4. Participates in Disaster and Emergency Management and Advanced Medical Response in event of National Disaster or Drill activity.
  5. Particates in Fire and Emergency Code Activity and Drills including as directed by Management Lead.
  6. Forms part of the active Fire Warden Team for Cheshire Hall Medical Services.
  7. Participates in Quality Monitoring reporting and Accreditation Canada functions as outlined by Engineering Manager.
  8. Attends inservices and participates in continuing professional development opportunities.
  9. Performs other professional duties as may be assigned within his/her scope and ability.

4.   DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY:

Able to assess and make decisions relating to reparins and maintenance requests issued under work allocation. Also needs to demonstrate communication skills to seek advice and direction for matters requiring support from Supervisor or manager.
