The incumbent supports the Company’s mechanics through the execution of basic maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and vehicle cleaning.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The incumbent supports the Company’s mechanics through the execution of basic maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and vehicle cleaning.  The Mechanical Attendant will also assist with vehicular repairs, disassembling/reassembling parts, and ensuring tools and workspaces are organized and safe.

Reports to: Facilities Coordinator  

Supervision Given to: Designated Subordinates

Duties and Responsibilities

• Top up all fluids e.g. Brake Fluid, Transmission Fluid, Engine oil, as necessary, or on advice from the Facilities Coordinator / Driver.
• Remove and replace flat tyres.
• Inflate / pressurize tyres as required.
• Remove and replace windshield wipers as required.
• Remove and replace bulbs for Indicators, Brakes and Park lights as required or on the advice of the Facilities Coordinator  / Driver.
• Clean trucks weekly.
• Remove / replace door winders and door winding arms on trucks.
• Remove /  replace batteries and battery poles as necessary.
• Carry out minor painting on vehicles including rust removal.
• Regular starting of vehicles in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
• Maintain cleanliness and organizing of tools at the company’s mechanic shop.
• Maintain accurate records of all spare parts and lubricants.
• Power-wash vehicles, engines and underbodies as required.
• Manage the distribution of fuel and maintain records of issue.
• Perform any other related duties as required.

Minimum Training and Experience:

•       3 ‘O’ Level or CXC / CSEC passes including Mathematics and English Language.

•       At least 2 years working experience in the field.
