Marketing and Corporate Communications Officer (Contract)

The Marketing and Corporate Communications Officer is generally accountable for the implementation of agreed-upon tactical elements of the Credit Union’s marketing and corporate communications strategy.

Position Summary

The Marketing and Corporate Communications Officer is generally accountable for the implementation of agreed-upon tactical elements of the Credit Union’s marketing and corporate communications strategy. Such tactical elements may include but are not limited to brand management, corporate website/social media management, preparation of internal and external publication(s), to assist in the implementation of Credit Union’s advertising product and service campaigns and events planning and execution.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive corporate brand strategy, message development, pitch, and announcement strategies.
• Develop branding initiatives, strategic marketing campaigns and internal / external communications and foster external media relations. 
• Assist with advertising, public relations and promotional programmes through liaison arrangements with, media representatives, advertising firms and event management organizations.
• Consultatively develop internal publications such as newsletters, releases, email announcements, planned publications, on-line, intranet, video, special projects and assignments.
• Develop content for and manage the company’s website and social media platforms. 
• Create rich and creative content that is optimized for search engines.
• Present recommendations, para-professional and technical advice, support and assistance to Marketing & Corporate Communications Manager or the Board and committees as may be required.
• Assist in the implementation of marketing strategies and campaigns as identified /developed by Senior Management / Marketing & Corporate Communications Manager 
• Undertake market research activities as may be assigned.
• Undertake special projects and assignments as may be determined by the Chief Executive Officer from time to time.
• Perform any other related duties as required by the job function.

General Qualification and Experience Education

 Qualifications

• BSc in Marketing/ Communications/ Journalism/ Public Relations and/or other job-related field required

Experience

• Five (5) years’ experience in marketing and corporate communications function in the Financial Services Industry.

Or any combination of relevant qualifications and experience

Technical Knowledge

• Knowledge of marketing, public relations, advertising, promotion and other marketing and communication methods. 
• Knowledge of media issues, new media marketing theory and practice, communications strategies, and implementation 
• Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) practices Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop 
• Knowledge of Word press and Google Analytics 
• Knowledge of Google Ads and Search Engine Optimization
• Knowledge of Graphic Arts and printing industry standards and procedures
• Ability to produce technical and statistical reports
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Understanding of financial markets and economic conditions
