The Marketing Assistant within the Analytical Instrumentation Division applies their skills and training in laboratory and related fields to support the department, improve operational efficiency, and ensure customer satisfaction

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the Co-ordinator Analytical Instruments Division
  • Prepare customer quotations (local & regional), assisting with preparation of tenders for department (local & regional)
  • Email quotes and updates to customers.
  • Conduct research for the Analytical Instruments Division.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers in a professional manner both on phone and via email.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Analytical Instruments Division
  • Take customer phone calls; messages; setting up of appointments and sales meetings for the Analytical Instruments Division
  • Assist with setting up appointments/schedule for visiting foreign suppliers
  • Assist the Co-ordinator with development of marketing materials for promotion of the Analytical Instruments Division
  • Assist with the distribution of marketing promotional material (specials, flyers, product information) to customers
  • Provide update of the Analytical Instruments Division’s Sales Logs and updates customer database.
  • Track purchase orders
  • Follow up on customer quotes, orders and queries
  • Prepare monthly forecasts for suppliers
  • Perform any other duties as required

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Analytical Chemistry or Chemistry, or a combination of training and experience in a similar position or its equivalent
  • Health & Safety Certification (UWI)
  • Some knowledge of Chemistry/Biology/or equivalent
  • Two (2) years experience in a laboratory will be considered an asset
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must have excellent administrative skills
  • The ability to multitask effectively with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer Service oriented
  • Dynamic and strong interpersonal skills
  • The ability to prioritize and show initiative
