Sagicor Group Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Innovation team in the capacity of:

 

 

 

Manager – Cyber Security

 

 

Establish security policies, standards, and procedures.

 

Identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks across systems and networks.

 

Design, develop, and implement protective, detective, and corrective controls to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Sagicor’s data assets.

 

Ensure secure architecture for applications, networks, and cloud environments

 

 

Location: Any Sagicor Financial Corporation Territory

 

As a Manager – Cyber Security, you will:

 

  • Define and implement the organisation’s cybersecurity strategy.
  • Align cybersecurity initiatives with business objectives.
  • Report to senior leadership on risks, incidents, and compliance status.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards (ISO 27001, NIST, SWIFT, Applicable Data Protection Laws/Acts, PCI, etc.).
  • Conduct regular tests, audits, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Manage incident response plans and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Securing enterprise data and technology assets by designing, implementing, and enforcing security controls and safeguards.
  • Supervise daily security operations (including intrusion detection, endpoint protection).
  • Oversee identity and access management (IAM) systems.
  • Monitor threat intelligence feeds and respond to emerging threats.
  • Lead investigations into breaches and coordinate remediation efforts.
  • Lead and mentor IT & Data Security/cybersecurity analysts, engineers, and specialists.
  • Build a culture of security awareness across the organization.
  • Provide training and upskilling opportunities for security team members.
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with IT, legal, compliance and privacy teams.
  • Evaluate and deploy new security technologies (e.g., cloud security, zero trust, AI-driven monitoring, etc.).
  • Collaborate with vendors and external partners for managed security services.
  • Drive continuous improvement in cybersecurity tools and processes.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

 

What do you need?

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a Cyber Security equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Cyber Security qualifications required are CISM and/or CISSP or an equivalent.
  • Certifications in IT auditing and/or risk, such as CISA or CRISC or an equivalent.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in IT/Data/Cyber Security and/or Data Protection management.
  • Project management skills and/or certification would be an asset.
  • Perform reviews and assessments against standards/acts/laws/regulations.
  • Demonstrated consultative approach to driving change and deploying controls.
  • Knowledge of technological trends and developments in the areas of information security, risk management, and data protection.
  • Knowledge of information security and risk control frameworks such as COBiT, ISO 27001/2, ISO 22301, NIST, PCI, HIPAA, ITIL, CIS, and ISO 31000.
  • Solid knowledge of the Jamaica Data Protection Act, Cayman/Panama/Costa Rica Data Protection Law, GDPR and other relevant data protection laws/acts/standards.
  • Ability to quickly grasp how new technologies work and how they might be applied to achieve business goals.
  • Excellent management skills and the ability to interface easily with both internal staff at all levels and outside authorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team, delivering high performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong facilitation skills and a clear ability to build strong relationships with business stakeholders at all levels, including executive managers and vendors.
  • Strong, proven problem-solving skills and the ability to identify, analyse, and resolve problems, driving solutions through to completion.
  • Strong affinity with technology and an interest in the wider implications of technology.
  • Energy and a clear passion for the role.
  • Proven integrity and the ability to handle confidential matters in a professional manner, applying the appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
