Manager – Commercial Lines Department: Sales Reports to: Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Sales

Overview

We’re inviting qualified internal candidates to lead growth across our commercial lines portfolio. This is a performance-driven sales role with responsibility for new business production, and retention across classes such as Property, Liability, Marine & other specialty Risks. The job offers a competitive basic salary plus commission.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and deliver commercial-lines GWP (Gross Written Premiums), new business, retention, and cross-sell targets.
• Build and manage a proactive pipeline: prospecting, qualifying, and closing mid-market and corporate opportunities.
• Lead proposal development, placement strategy, and negotiations with insurers to secure optimal terms.
• Oversee onboarding and servicing standards for commercial clients, ensuring exceptional customer experience and compliant documentation.
• Partner with DGM – Sales on pricing strategies, campaigns, provide weekly reporting.
• Maintain strong market relationships and current knowledge of insurers’ appetites, policy wordings, and emerging risks.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven success in commercial lines insurance would be an asset.
• Technical knowledge of key business classes would be an advantage.
• Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
• 5 years’ experience in sales at the retain/commercial level
