The Manager, Business Development and Promotions (MBD&P) will play a pivotal role in driving business growth, expanding market presence, and enhancing brand visibility.

  1. A.   JOB PURPOSE:

Under the direction of the Director, Strategic Planning, Business Development and Promotions (DSPBD&P), the Manager, Business Development and Promotions (MBD&P) will play a pivotal role in driving business growth, expanding market presence, and enhancing brand visibility. Through strategic vision and leadership, the MBD&P will focus on fostering strategic partnerships, promoting accreditation and training services, and contribute to the Agency’s success..

B. KEY OUTPUTS

  • Annual, Marketing, Communication, Public Relations and Business Development Plans, Budgets and Programmes developed and monitored. 
  • Marketing, business development and client acquisition strategies developed, implemented, monitored and analysed.
  • Market research conducted and analysed.
  • Media and sectoral networking arrangements and linkages established and maintained.
  • Press briefings, conferences and special events organised and executed.
  • Speeches, media advisories, presentations, marketing materials and other publications prepared.
  • Representation at media and other corporate events undertaken.
  • Technical advice provided.
  • Reports and other relevant documents prepared.

 

  1. C.              TECHNICAL/PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with the DSBPD&P to develop and execute comprehensive, innovative and creative business development and marketing strategies and programmes to expand and solidify the Agency’s footprint across diverse industries and sectors in target markets in accordance with established strategic goals and objectives.
  • Develop and manage budgets and financial projections for business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Recommend key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of business development initiatives, track progress, and drive continuous improvement within the Branch.
  • Identify, evaluate and pursue new business opportunities in target markets and industries and stakeholder partnerships.
  • Participate in or lead as directed by the DSPBD&P, contract discussions with potential clients or partners, aimed at producing agreements that advance the Agency’s objectives and are mutually beneficial to all parties.
  • Drive client acquisition efforts through strategic initiatives, lead generation activities, and relationship-building strategies to expand the Agency's client base and market presence, in keeping with its vision.
  • Prepare persuasive business proposals to secure new business and assist with the formulation of other documents to secure support for Agency initiatives. 
  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis and stay abreast of emerging trends, market demands and best practices, industry and regulatory changes and opportunities for growth to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Cultivate and nurture strong relationships and collaborations with existing and prospective clients, partners, industry associations, thought leaders and other key stakeholders to enhance the accreditation body's influence and reach..
  • Drive the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels and development of promotional materials and collateral to raise awareness of the Agency’s services and enhance brand visibility.
  • Lead efforts to engage with existing clients to understand their needs, identify areas for expansion of the scope of their services with the Agency and foster long-term relationships to drive client satisfaction and retention.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and industry analysts to generate positive coverage and publicity.
  • Track,  analyse and prepare regular reports to the DSPBD&P and senior management, on market data, customer insights, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of business development and marketing initiatives, and share insights and opportunities for improvements as needed.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and excellent within in-Branch or cross-functional teams, aligned with achieving the Agency’s corporate goals and objectives.  
  • Represent the Agency at conferences, meetings, networking and other corporate.
  • Organise and participate in corporate events, conferences, and trade shows to promote the Agency's brand and accreditation and technical training services.
  • Assist the DSPBD&P in planning and organising JANAAC’s participation in Ministerial Trade Missions, business meetings and related events. This includes scheduling meetings with clients or partners, coordinating logistics, developing agendas and presentations, and facilitating productive discussions, as directed. The MBD&P will also capture key insights and outcomes in comprehensive reports and provide updates to senior management, and liaise with press and media for coverage, monitoring public perception, and evaluating the effectiveness of events for future improvements.
  • Provide support for promoting the Agency’s satellite office, including developing promotional materials and coordinating outreach efforts to increase visibility and engagement in Guyana and proximate target markets.
  • Deliver expert technical advice to aid informed decision-making.

OTHER

 · Performs any other related duties which may be assigned from time to time.

  1. D.             AUTHORITY:
  • Prepare budgets and monitor expenditure within budgetary allocation.
  • Create order and payment requisition forms and travel claim forms, as necessary.
  • Identify risk and recommend risk management strategies to support the review and updating of the Agency’s Risk Management Plan.

 

  1. E.              PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
  1. Collaborating on Business Development and Marketing Strategies:
  • Number of innovative and creative strategies developed and successfully executed.
  • Alignment of strategies with strategic goals and objectives to meet the Agency’s mission and vision.
  1. Financial Management:
  • Accuracy and comprehensiveness of budgets and financial projections with evidence of a cost-effective approach and quality criteria considered.
  • Adherence to allocated budgets and regular monitoring of budgets against planned expenditures.
  1. G.             MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mass Communications, Journalism, Marketing or equivalent qualifications in related fields.
  • Specialised training in business development, sales, and marketing.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in a management capacity.
  • At least four (4) years overall experience in a comparable work environment
