We are hiring a Maintenance Technician - Level 1 for our client in Kingston.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – LEVEL 1

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the efficient operation of our production lines by preparing, setting up, and maintaining equipment. This role involves installing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of machinery, equipment, piping, and electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. The Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for welding and fabrication tasks, plumbing work, and the installation and repair of portable wastewater piping systems. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced industrial environment to ensure minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform machine setup, adjustments, cleaning, and sanitization while ensuring proper documentation.
  • Monitor production lines, inspect and test equipment, and train staff in proper usage.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades in compliance with company standards.
  • Dismantle and repair faulty machinery, install electrical components, and maintain company facilities.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, source equipment and spare parts, and coordinate with suppliers.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma in Industrial Maintenance or Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical Maintenance.
  • Level 2 Plumbing/Welding Preferable (Welding).
  • PLC Programmer training would be an asset.
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in similar position, preferably in a chemical process plant environment.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in maintenance, repairs, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
