Maintenance Technician

Job Objective: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of company assets to ensure optimal performance, minimal downtime, and continuity of operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on company assets to reduce equipment failure and operational delays.
  • Manage the company fleet and equipment by performing routine inspections, assessing performance, and executing minor repairs or coordinating outsourced servicing when required.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date equipment service logs and asset inventory records, identifying damages or faults and ensuring timely corrective action.
  • Provide basic orientation and guidance to staff on the proper use of newly assigned

equipment and assets.

  • Assist with other maintenance-related duties as assigned to support operational needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports aligned with departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and operational objectives.


General Accountabilities

  • Ensure all assigned equipment is functional and serviceable, promptly notifying administration when external servicing is required.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive installations, including security systems and camera locations.
  • Ensure all equipment service logs and inventory records are complete, accurate, and current. Success Criteria
  • Company assets and fleet are maintained in a safe, reliable, and operational condition, supporting uninterrupted business operations and service delivery.
  • Equipment faults and maintenance issues are identified early through routine inspections, with corrective actions initiated within 48 hours to minimize downtime and operational risk.
  • Preventive maintenance practices contribute to reduced breakdowns, extended asset lifespan, and controlled maintenance and replacement costs.
  • Equipment service logs and asset inventory records are consistently accurate, current, and audit-ready, supporting informed decision-making and asset planning.
  • Maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Effective collaboration with colleagues, vendors, and management results in timely resolution of maintenance issues and positive internal stakeholder feedback.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Journeyman Certificate or equivalent; technical certification in Electrical & Electronics Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology and Industrial Maintenance Technology or related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in equipment maintenance, fleet management, or industrial repair.
  • Valid driver’s license Class 3 & 4 with clean driving record.
  • Defensive Driving certificate will be an asset
  • Knowledge of hybrid vehicles will also be an asset
  • Proficient in diagnostic tools, maintenance software, and basic mechanical/electrical repairs.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and work in varying environmental conditions.
  • Must be available for emergency call-outs outside regular working hours when vehicles or equipment require urgent attention.
