Maintenance Technician

A company in the financial services sector is seeking a dedicated and reliable Maintenance Technician to join its team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the upkeep and smooth operation of facilities and fixed assets, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and productive environment for staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect grounds, buildings, and equipment to identify and assist with repairs, renovations, and general maintenance activities.

  • Support the coordination and monitoring of maintenance, renovation, and improvement projects to ensure quality work and compliance with timelines and contractual obligations.

  • Assist in developing and monitoring maintenance schedules and preventative maintenance programs (e.g., alarm systems, water systems, air conditioning units, generators, and fire/smoke detectors).

  • Oversee the moving, relocation, delivery, or pickup of stationery, office equipment, and fixed assets between office locations.

  • Ensure compliance with building, health, and safety regulations.

  • Maintain accurate records and provide timely updates and reports on maintenance-related matters.

  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Passes in at least five (5) CXC subjects, or

  • Levels 1 & 2 General Construction HEART Trust Certificate.

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in building maintenance or general construction.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of building maintenance and general construction.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Excellent customer service abilities.

  • Basic computer literacy.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

Special Conditions:

  • Exposure to dust, dirt, and heat during grounds and facility upkeep.

  • Flexibility to respond to urgent maintenance needs.
