Maintenance Technician

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

To operate, maintain, and repair production machinery while performing quality checks to ensure optimal equipment performance and product quality.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain filling and packaging machinery.
  • Manage and maintain auxiliary systems such as ammonia and air compressors, chillers, and boilers.
  • Perform machine and packaging changeovers, including fine-tuning for optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment issues during production to reduce downtime.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on production equipment.
  • Support blow moulding operations as needed.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance as directed by supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Perform routine startup checks on all production line equipment.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production interruptions.
  • Replace or repair defective machine parts and components.
  • Track and document the use of spare parts.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure production targets are met through efficient machinery and high product quality.
  • Operate plant machinery and perform changeovers in line with the production schedule.
  • Conduct quality checks and Statistical Process Control (SPC) measurements using SPC software.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Follow procedures outlined in the company’s Management System and contribute to team goals.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and related systems and programs.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new machinery and methods.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems.
  • Understanding of Integrated Management System (IMS) policies and procedures relevant to the role.

 

Education:

  • Diploma in Engineering (preferably Electrical) or an equivalent qualification.
