This person will be responsible for assigning tasks to the various maintenance technicians and corresponding supervision of said tasks to ensure that repairs/maintenance are completed to Couples standard and best practice.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise all Technicians in the Maintenance department
  • Ensure Technicians record and report all issues found during Daily Operational Checks (DOC)
  • Ensure technicians adhere to the policies and procedures of the maintenance department and the company
  • Ensure, when applicable, that technicians are appropriately disciplined in accordance with company policy
  • Provides training for new department hires with respect to operations of department, work flows, DOC etc.
  • Recommends to Maintenance Manager additional training, when required, for existing technicians
  • Inspect facilities, systems and equipment daily to identify issues and required maintenance, record all such in CMMS and create, schedule and allocate appropriate work orders
  • Ensure all systems and equipment under Maintenance department are maintained as per best practice/manufactures recommendations
  • Ensure all work is performed efficiently and in adherence with best practice/manufactures recommendations
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure the existing Preventative Maintenance Program is strictly adhered to
  • Using CMMS, schedule and delegate all DOC, Preventative, Reactive and Emergency works
  • Ensure all requests received on CMMS and from Maintenance Manager and/or General Manager are made into work orders and attended to
  • Ensure work orders are scheduled based on Continuous Operational Priority
  • Ensure work order schedules on CMMS are strictly adhered to
  • Ensure all tasks detailed on work orders are completed
  • Close work orders and ensure that all information detailed on work order are accurate
  • Documents   all   maintenance   concerns/resolutions   in   the   existing   CMMS   database; providing action plans and status reports as needed.
  • Provide daily updates of any and all relevant issues, outstanding repairs, equipment breakdown and related to the Maintenance Manager
  • Recommends to Maintenance Manager any upgrades, improvements to existing equipment and/or systems
  • Reports equipment nearing “end of life” as least nine (9) months in advance to Maintenance Manager
  • Responsible for requesting to Maintenance Manager all spare parts, tools, equipment, PPE etc.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager with the development of maintenance plans/procedures
  • Provides on a daily basis, to Maintenance Manager, Purchase Orders for any and all purchases made on company vendor accounts including those made by Technicians
  • Ensure that company tools/equipment/spare parts/stock items etc. are not used for non-company business
  • Ensure, when assigned, that all emergency requests received via “on-call” phone are attended to
  • Ensure all spare parts, stock items, common tool/equipment are accounted for
  • Participate   in   co-ordination/planning of   projects   and   assist, when   required, in   special projects/new installation/improvement works/community projects
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Attained minimum NCVET Level 3 certification in Electrical/Instrumentation, AC/Refrigeration or Plant Management from a recognized institution
  • Have a minimum of Three (3) years’ experience in same or a similar position
  • Associate Degree and/or Professional Certification would be an asset
  • Previous experience in the Tourism industry would be an asset
