The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and management of engineering and maintenance functions.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and managing all maintenance and engineering functions to ensure operational efficiency, reliability, and alignment with organizational objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for Engineering and Maintenance in line with company objectives.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for maintenance and engineering in line with organizational goals.

  • Participate in planning activities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operations.

  • Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively to achieve performance targets

  • Oversee and maintain work order systems and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

  • Optimize preventative maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime and costs.

  • Apply reliability and engineering principles to enhance equipment performance.

  • Plan, execute, and manage engineering and maintenance projects within established timelines and budgets.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance and operational teams.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, regulations, and internal policies.

  • Identify risks related to maintenance and engineering activities and implement mitigation measures.

  • Support the development of contingency plans for critical operations.

  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Manufacturing environment; 5 years in a Maintenance Manager role
  • Experience in a unionized environment 
  • Knowledge of OSH requirements and Quality procedures
  • Excellent supervisory, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent project management and reporting skills
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
