MACHINE OPERATOR

Position Title: Machine Operator

Main Functions:

Responsible for monitoring and controlling machines that freeze and flavor ice cream. Incumbent is responsible for the flavoring and initial hardening of the ice-cream mix. Required to perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time as well as to achieve individual outputs to support the team meeting the production goals.

Reports to: Team Leader

Job Functions:

• Monitor the viscosity, temperature, air and speed of the freezing machine throughout the shift to ensure the ice-cream texture as at the company’s predetermined consistency.
• Ensure that the Flavoring Tank is cleaned and sterile as per Kremi’s standards.
• With the assistance of the Team Lead, carefully examining their batch codes.
• Remove pure Mix from Mix Plant to Flavoring Tank and add flavours.

Working Conditions:

• Prevailing shift pattern.
• Will be required to work in a noisy factory environment.
• Will be required to work in a wet environment and be exposed to some cleaning chemicals.
• May be exposed to constant humid conditions in or around the factory premises.
• Will spend most of the working day standing.

Qualifications/Competence and Experiences:

• CXC passes in Mathematics and English
• NTEI HEART Certification
• Food Handlers Permit.
• 1 years’ working experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures.
• Must be able to take initiative.
• Good communicator.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Must display the ability to think quickly.
• Strong assessment capability.
• Attention to details. 
• Must be customer oriented, accurate, precise, reliable, flexible, and observant.
