One of our clients is seeking to fill the role of a machine operator. The machine operator is responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining machinery.
Key Accountabilities:
- Set up machinery for operation
- Monitor and adjust machinery when necessary to improve performance (controlling and adjusting machine settings)
- Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions
- Feed raw material to semi-automated machines
- Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance
- Maintain production logs
- Perform quality control, and report and record problems to supervisor
- Comply with all safety and health regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
- Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area
- Receiving and preparing of goods for deliveries
- Monitoring and reporting utility related issues
- Packaging of finished products
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) CXC/CSEC Passes including Mathematics and English
- Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility
- Must be detail-oriented to identify maintenance, product or operations issues
- Understanding of production and plant processes
- Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, to bend, and to stand for long periods of time
- Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)
