SALARY SCALE: $2,186,996.23 - $2,483,397.08 per annum.

JOB SUMMARY:

The position is responsible for performing messenger service, carrying out errands on or off the site and facilitating the distribution and collection of mail, printed materials and supplies. The scope of responsibility includes operating a motor bike for pick-ups and deliveries. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring basic maintenance and safety of the assigned motor bike.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• High school graduate with minimum three (3) GCE/CXC, including English Language PLUS
• Two (2) years’ experience in riding a motor bike and performing similar duties.
• Valid and current motor bike license.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver and collect mail, collect Harbour fee receipts from Customs and shipping agents.
• Photocopy documents as directed.
• Mail letters and carry out required activities at the Post Office.
• Carry out errands as directed.
• Deliver notices to media houses and publications.
• Operate a motor bike for pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws, regulations and speed limits.
• Facilitate the delivery/collection of mail in the absence of the designated driver or messenger from another department.
• Carry out basic maintenance to the motorbike assigned; maintain same in a clean, polished and flawless operating condition. Report any problems/defects related to the functioning and maintenance of the motor bike to the Manager, Harbours.
• Any other duties assigned.
