MEP PROJECT ENGINEER

Reporting to the MEP project manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination, management, and implementation of the MEP design necessary to construct the project safely, on time, to a high standard, and within budget. He/she is versatile, innovative, and highly motivated.

Specific requirements/duties of the position include:

• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and ELV design principles and installation techniques.
• Providing technical advice to the designer, supervisor, installer, and inspector regarding the installation and maintenance of the MEP system.
• Organizing, reviewing, and evaluating the work of consultants, contractors, and others.
• Coordinating installation and inspection of relevant equipment and systems. 
• Reviewing technical drawings and specifications of MEP systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
• Ability to interact with design professionals at all levels.
• Demonstrated success in MEP contract administration.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of relevant engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience relating to mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience in the hospitality sector would be an asset.
• Working knowledge of MEP design, management, and implementation.
• Working knowledge of plans, prints, specifications, and schematics associated with trade
• Computer literate with knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to relocate & travel as needed.
