Logistics Supervisor

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Process insurance claims and follow up on settlement.
• Verification of trade invoice set ups.
• Communicate with various internal departments on any shipment concerns such as arrival /delays and additional costs when required.
• Respond to emails within twenty-four (24) hours when applicable.
• Communicate with external Brokers on incoming and outgoing shipment queries.
• Coordination of Export Shipments when required.
• Coding of Broker and hauler invoices for payment when required.
• Review of Logistics Log to ensure timely updating and processing of all IHB shipments.
• Process import and export documents in ACE / Asycuda for the import clearance or exports of shipments ensuring that duty and VAT calculations are accurate and ensuring that customs, rent and demurrage costs are always kept to a minimum. 
• Clear shipments from POS Port or airport when required.
• Release shipments in Navis.
• Prepare exbond entries and complete process when required.
• Verify Tariff – Duty / VAT for new and current items.
• Apply for and collect import permits where applicable and check for OGA releases in TTBizlink.
• Update and maintain import permits for fresh produce.
• Send clearance notifications prior to clearance to the logistics coordinators.
• Obtain approval from local shipping agents and customs at relevant ports of exit for export of cargo when required.
• Prepare duty and vat payment requests for IHB shipments and update chq request log when required.
• Prepare charge sheets for all IHB shipments.
• Reconcile Customs Online account weekly.
• Ensure Department’s KPI are met and maintained.
• Conduct all business transactions in accordance with the high ethical standards that the company maintains. 
• Assist in other areas of work based on the needs of the department and any other area as necessary in support of Company activities.
• All responsibilities and accountabilities must be executed in accordance with the company’s Customer Service Management System (CSMS), Quality, Health and Safety Environment (HSE) and Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) policies and practices.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3-5 years Supervisory experience in a similar position and environment.
• 5 O’Levels including English and Mathematics.
• Computer literate with knowledge of customs software packages ( ACE, ASYCUDA). 
• Customs Clerk Grade 11 license or higher.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Similar function. 
• Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills. 
• Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask. 
• Ability to work flexible hours.
