You are responsible for overseeing the inventory operations of Ramco Express. Ensuring that the Convenient Store is stocked and that each product is sold in accordance with the company’s agreed margins. You will work with Management to ensure the timely delivery of Inventory Reports.

Specific Duties 

Procurement Management:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards.
  • Source, negotiate and manage relationships with suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing.
  • Continuously evaluate market trends and product demand to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Generate purchase orders/goods returned notes for appropriate approval.

Inventory Management:

  • Oversee the Merchandisers to manage inventory levels, product assortment and strategic placement throughout the store.
  • Utilize sales data and forecasting techniques to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts.
  • Implement inventory control measures to reduce shrinkage, expiries and damages and improve turnover ratios, while updating the Petrosoft system daily.   This includes the use of inventory bin cards to effectively track the quantity of identified items in a specific storage location for recording and monitoring the inflow and outflow of those inventory items, listing detailed information regarding the quantities, dates, and stock movements within a specific storage location must be readily available when requested.
  • Prepare all requested and required reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner to Finance, Assistant Manager and Retail Manager:
    • cigarette reconciliation – daily
    • phone cards – daily
    • pastry discards – daily
    • shortages – by the 4th working day each month
    • inventory stock count of at least 80% of items – monthly
    • inventory count of all items – quarterly, in conjunction with Finance

Vendor Management:

  • Evaluate vendor performance and conduct regular supplier reviews, at least quarterly, to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Identify new suppliers and assess their capabilities and suitability to mee the company’s needs.
  • Maintain an approved supplier database.
  • Resolve any issues or disputes with vendors in a timely and professional manner.   Collaborate with Finance and Assistant Manager on a need to basis.

Store Layout:

  • Work in conjunction with the Assistant Service Station Manager to optimize store layout for maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate product placement, signage, and promotional displays to drive sales and enhance customer experience.

Accounting:

  • Liaise and assist Finance on maintaining the current status of Accounts Payable. 
  • Ensure that the established schedule of prices for store items is always adhered to in the Service Stations and correctly included on Petrosoft.   Promptly inform the Accountant and Senior Management of instances of deviations.

Contribution Margin Management:

  • Monitor product pricing and margins to achieve or exceed contribution margin targets.
  • In conjunction with the Assistant SS Manager, analyze pricing strategies, promotions and product mix to enhance profitability.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Assistant SS Manager to track performance and identify areas for improvement.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and provide guidance to the merchandisers ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and company policies.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and training to develop the skills of direct reports to support customer engagement and satisfaction.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment to maximize team performance.

Minimum Qualification and Experience

 AAT/CAT or ACCA Level One or equivalent

  • Certification in Logistics Management will be an asset
  • Five C.X.C /G.C.E O’ Level passes including Mathematics and English Language
  • Five (5) years experience in a customer service oriented environment
