Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited is seeking a suitable candidate to join our Credit Risk (Centralized Collateral & Securities) team in the capacity of:

Loan Securities Officer (Grade 3) 

Conduct due diligence on approved credit facilities prior to disbursement.

Authorization of collateral inputted on T24.

Monitor and reconcile all incoming deposits in the settlement account.

Location: Kingston

As a Loan Securities Officer, you will:

• Review credit packages to ensure compliance with credit policies, procedures and regulatory practices prior to disbursement.
• Authorize credit packages for disbursement.
• Refer defective credit packages submitted to the respective lender/Branch/Unit for resolution.
• Verify accuracy of fees collected.
• Review collateral files and verify with collateral information logged for credit facilities and releases on T24.
• Review and verify moveable collaterals logged on NSIPP.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and management reports.
• Reconcile Collateral & Securities settlement account.
• Exercise custodial responsibility for combinations/keys.
• Verify, file, cull and update safe keeping records (keys and combinations) held for branches and departments as required.
• Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

What do you need?

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Banking/Management Studies or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Supervisory training would be an asset.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in banking with at least two (2) years exposure in a credit/loan environment.
• Sound knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
• High degree of accuracy and detail oriented.
• Completion of work in an accurate and timely manner.
• Basic knowledge of the operations of the credit lending process.
• Knowledge of and training in security documentation and processing.
• High degree of confidentiality and flexibility.
• Ability to prioritize and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure, independently in customer and team oriented environment.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
