The Line Cook will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, station management, plating, sanitation, and supporting overall kitchen operations. The successful candidate must be capable of maintaining consistency, speed, organization, and professionalism during high-volume service periods.

Position Summary


The Line Cook will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, station management, plating, sanitation, and supporting overall kitchen operations. The successful candidate must be capable of maintaining consistency, speed, organization, and professionalism during high-volume service periods. This role is critical to ensuring our client delivers a premium customer experience through excellent food quality and efficient kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation & Cooking

Prepare and cook menu items according to the client's recipes, standards, and portion controls
Execute orders efficiently and accurately during peak service periods
Prepare proteins, sauces, toppings, marinades, batters, and side items
Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality across all dishes
Assist with daily prep work before service and kitchen closing procedures after service
Maintain proper cooking temperatures and food handling procedures
Monitor freshness and quality of ingredients throughout service

Kitchen Operations

Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and public health regulations
Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients using FIFO methods
Assist with inventory monitoring and reporting shortages, wastage, or damaged stock
Minimize food waste and maintain operational efficiency
Properly clean and maintain kitchen equipment and tools
Support opening and closing kitchen procedures daily

Team Collaboration

Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service
Communicate effectively during high-pressure service periods
Maintain professionalism, urgency, and teamwork at all times
Assist other kitchen stations when required
Follow instructions from supervisors and management efficiently

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen, restaurant, food truck, café, or fast-casual environment
Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation, and food safety practices
Experience operating fryer, grill, flat-top, and prep stations
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
Strong multitasking and time management skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Must maintain high personal hygiene and professional grooming standards

Preferred
Culinary Arts Certificate or Diploma from an accredited institution preferred
Food Handler’s Badge required or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire
Food Safety or ServSafe certification considered an asset
Experience in modern street-food, casual dining, or elevated fast-casual concepts preferred
