Ecolab is seeking a Lead Field Service Representative (Experienced Mechanical Engineer) where your technical expertise and customer-first mindset will help shape a more sustainable future. You’ll be part of a purpose-driven team that supports water treatment systems across diverse industries. You’ll work hands-on in the field, building trusted relationships with customers and delivering solutions that protect vital resources and improve operational performance. 

 

How You’ll Make an Impact: 

  • Provide routine service support to Sales Representatives in strategic district accounts to execute agreed upon customer system assurance and continuous improvement plans

  • Assist Sales Representatives with plant surveys of prospective customers

  • Assist Sales Representatives with start-ups of new applications in both existing customers and in new accounts

  • Develop strong relationships with the key stakeholders in the strategic district accounts where you provide service support to other District Sales Representatives.

  • Provide technical support to customers; identifying and resolving customer pain points, escalating as required.

  • Engage in problem solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data and providing written recommendations to ensure customer operations are performing at optimal levels

  • Support services include Sample testing, maintenance, customer service, service report generation, chemical inventory management, general labor activities

  • Travel within assigned sales territory

  • Deliver expert service and support for water treatment and process systems 

  • Monitor chemical usage and system performance to ensure optimal operation 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and treatment issues with a focus on cost-effective solutions 

  • Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs to maximize equipment uptime

  • Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate clearly with customers 

  • Collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve service delivery

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical) or Science (Chemist)

  • Position requires a current and valid Driver’s License with no restrictions

  • Experience in a technical service role, ideally with water treatment systems or in industrial/mechanical environments.

  • No immigration sponsorship available 

 

Physical Demands: 

  • Position requires working in confined spaces and extreme conditions (hot, cold, damp, dusty)

  • Position requires lifting, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and standing for extended periods 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Associate’s degree in chemistry, mechanical systems, or related field

  • Hands-on plumbing experience and familiarity with industrial equipment 

  • Experience with boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems 

  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pumping systems

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
