We’re looking for a Lead Data Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft and Databricks ecosystems, a passion for innovation in generative AI and LLMs, and the leadership skills to guide a high-performing team.


Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement scalable, production-grade data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks Lakehouse, Synapse, and Microsoft Fabric.
• ​Lead cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-level solutions that enhance performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• ​Drive innovation in generative AI and large language models (LLMs) aligned with business goals.
• ​Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning.
• ​Ensure data governance, security, and compliance across all projects.
• ​Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and present technical solutions.
• ​Deliver quarterly service performance reports and manage client feedback and escalations.
  
  

Must-Have Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• ​8+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering.
• ​Proven success in delivering enterprise-level projects using Microsoft data tools.
• ​Strong architectural understanding of Microsoft and Databricks platforms.
• ​Experience with generative AI and LLMs in real-world applications.
• ​Exceptional problem-solving and technical leadership skills.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:

• Our team is using a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility between working from home in Jamaica and being in the office. You will be required to spend a minimum of five days each month in the office, though this number may increase depending on business needs
• Expected to work in a fast-paced team environment
• ​Will be working primarily in a paperless environment and expected to be using information systems for the entire workday to access data or perform activities
• ​May be required to work extended hours periodically or on public holidays
