The Opportunity- Laundry Supervisor 

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, skilled and highly motivated individual join our Housekeeping Team.  The Laundry Supervisor will be responsible for processing all soiled hotel bed linens, terry and food and beverage table linens by operating all laundry/dry cleaning machinery in accordance to hotel’s standards.

Summary of Main Duties:

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/ service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Ensure that assigned staff has reported to work; document any late or absent employees.
    Prepare and distribute assignment sheets to assigned staff and review priorities.
  • Communicate additions or changes to the assignment sheets as they arise throughout the shift.
  • Check for proper supplies, neatness, cleanliness and mechanical problems. Instruct designated personnel to correct deficiencies.
  • Complete work orders for maintenance repairs. Contact Engineering directly for urgent repairs.
  • Responsible for conducting staff training, addressing disciplinary issues with appropriate actions, providing performance feedback to the manager, and conducting employee performance appraisals
  • Document pertinent information in department log book.
  • Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving. Review status of assignments and any follow-up action with manager and/or on-coming supervisor.
  • Complete monthly inventory count (linen/chemical).

    The ideal candidate will possess:

    At least one-year experience in a similar role.
    Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
    Ability to prioritise and organise.
    Ability to follow directions thoroughly.
    Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
    Read and understand all instructions, complications and hazards of chemicals used.
    Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and evenings as scheduled.
